We accept submissions in the following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary Short, Animated Short, Texas High School Short, Music Video, and Opening Title Sequence. You decide which category is appropriate for your film. Remember, SXSW defines a short as any film with a runtime less than 40 minutes and a feature as any film with a runtime over 40 minutes.
Are you a Texas high school filmmaker? If so, learn more about submitting here.

Eligibility
The Festival Committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project. Any previous screenings will decrease a film's chance of being screened, but they do not disqualify it from screening at the festival. The only thing that will disqualify your film from screening at SXSW is a previous PUBLIC screening in Austin before the festival. Cast & Crew screenings are okay.
Works will be categorized in competitive and non-competitive categories at the sole discretion of the SXSW Film Festival Committee and must have been completed in 2009, 2010 or be on track for completion in early 2011.
