At night, SXSW showcases hundreds upon hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin. 2010 Showcase Spotlight: Barbarella 3/20

At SXSW 2010, the awesome people behind PPM Records put on a killer showcase of buzz worthy acts. Although it was cold out that Saturday night, the venue was hot with packed bodies and an intense lineup that included Infinite Body, Gun Outfit, Total Abuse, KIT, Best Coast, Abe Vigoda and No Age. sonaBLAST! Redirects and Refocuses

SonaBLAST! has moved its headquarters from NYC to Louisville, Kentucky. The aim? To become the best indie label in the region. Started in 2002 mainly for singer-songwriters like Mark Geary (SXSW 2004) and Ben Sollee (SXSW 2009), sonaBLAST! now has several exciting bands like Lucky Pineapple and The Seedy Seeds (both SXSW 2009), and The Pass (see video above).

Alumni News: All Eyes and Ears on Sufjan

The music community was excited back in June when we learned that SXSW '04 Alum Sufjan Stevens was in fact working on a new album. The excitement came to a rolling boil when we learned that he'd booked a North American tour, set to perform live in large and beautiful, historic theaters and venues across the continent. Then, less than a couple weeks ago, we just about exploded when he surprised us by digitally releasing 60 minute EP All Delighted People with the promise of a physical release to follow shortly.
