RIP Andy Hummel of Big Star
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Big Star's founding bassist Andy Hummel yesterday at the age of 59. His death comes just four months after he was at SXSW 2010 for "I Never Travel Far Without a Little Big Star," a panel that turned into a tribute after the sudden death of band member Alex Chilton.
Andy also performed at the Big Star Tribute show, playing Way Out West and September Gurls with the band. For more information on Andy Hummel, you can read The Commercial Appeal article, written by Bob Mehr.
